The Unthinkable...........
One's own baby, child, or a beloved young person can no longer be held or embraced by us.
Through supporting my friend in 2025, I became aware that a different kind of acceptance is needed when one must bury their own child. I realized how difficult it is to accept this unimaginable experience and find a way back to life. This experience deeply moved me and motivated me to stand by others in similar situations and support them through art therapy.
In his book "My Grief Will Find You" ("Meine Trauer wird dich finden"), Roland Kachler shows how difficult it is to let a young person go. Rather than forcing release at any cost, he invites readers to discover a different, inner connection — a loving relationship that continues even after death.
Love and connectedness
The loss of an unborn baby is a profound and painful experience, even if the baby spent only a short time in the womb. A bond with the baby exists already in this early phase. It is important to know that this attachment remains, even when life unfolds differently than planned. In painting therapy, you have the opportunity to take time to give this grief space, to process it, and to find a new way to stay connected. This creative space can help explore the unspeakable, find comfort, and honor a lifelong love and connectedness.
Thank you so much, Iris, for allowing me to display the paintings on my website.
